Usernames FAQs

Q: How do I obtain a username and initial default password?

Answer:

Undergraduates, Taught and Research postgraduates automatically receive a username. Your username is printed on the front of your Student Union card, and is also your email address (username@leeds.ac.uk).

You can also obtain your username and password from the following web site : http://mypassword.leeds.ac.uk.

Alternatively you can use this method from any ISS cluster PC .

Staff

It's easy to apply for a username and password prior to starting work. Simply navigate to: http://username.leeds.ac.uk  to complete the online form.

Username application forms are also available from the ISS Help Desk for purposes such as setting up project accounts or applying to re-activate a previous account held. (The application form will need to be authorised by your departmental user-rep. If you are unsure who this is please contact the ISS Help Desk).

Once processed by ISS, copies of the application form with the username and initial default password details on will be returned to your departmental user-rep who should then pass a copy to you.

If urgent access is needed and you cannot wait for the internal post, the provided your application form has been processed by ISS Username Administration, it should be possible to get your username and initial default password by visiting the ISS Help Desk with your ID.
