SAP at Leeds University
SAP was implemented at the University in April 1999 as a replacement to the University's legacy Finance and HR systems. The initial implementation was for Central Administration, followed by a phased rollout of Finance, Purchasing, HR and Sales to faculties and departments across the university. This involved an enormous change in business processes and culture as SAP replaced many localised training.
Each year a number of projects and initiatives are undertaken, implementing additional or improved functionality to reflect UK and EU government initiatives, statutory regulations and the University's own strategies. Three major SAP upgrades have also been undertaken allowing for the deployment of new technologies.
As well as the core SAP modules there are also a number of related Internet Application components that have been developed within SAP and numerous interfaces to other systems across the University.
