- InterpOSe for Digimap 4.6 converts OS MasterMap data into MapInfo Tables (.tab); MapInfo Interchange (.mif/.mid); ESRI Shape (.shp); AutoCAD Drawing (.dwg); and Drawing eXchange Format (.dxf). It can convert Compressed OS MasterMap (.gml.gz) data.
It is available in ISS clusters and on Desktop Anywhere under Start > Programs > Mapping.
It is also available to download from the Dotted Eyes website.
- OSM2MIF 2 converts OS MasterMap data into MapInfo MIF/MID format. It can convert OS MasterMap (.gml) but NOT Compressed OS MasterMap (.gml.gz) data (for information on uncompressing data, see the last bullet point in this section).
You will not need to use OSM2MIF for OS MasterMap Topographic Layer data if you are using version 8 or higher of MapInfo Professional as these versions can import OS MasterMap (.gml) data directly. You will however need to use this converter for OS MasterMap Integrated Transport Network (ITN) Layer data, regardless of version of MapInfo Professional.
It is available in ISS clusters and on Desktop Anywhere under Start > Programs > Mapping.
It is also available to download from the Free Mapping Tools website.
OSM2MIF is bundled with multimif.mbx, a free MapInfo Professional tool which will batch import all layers in a single operation. This tool is available under the Table menu of MapInfo Professional 11 in the ISS clusters.
- ProductivitySuite 2.1's OS Data Converter converts OS MasterMap data into Feature Classes in an ESRI Geodatabase. It can convert both OS MasterMap (.gml) and Compressed OS MasterMap (.gml.gz) data.
It is available in ISS clusters under Start > Programs > Mapping > ArcGIS 10 > ArcGIS Desktop. ProductivitySuite is also available for campus and home installation via the corresponding links on The IT Shop's homepage (ProductivitySuite 2.1 is included with the ArcGIS Desktop 10 media set).
- All OS MasterMap data files currently available for download from Digimap are in a compressed GML (.gml.gz) format. If you need to uncompress the data you can use 7-Zip.
7-Zip 9.20 is available in ISS clusters and on Desktop Anywhere under Start > Programs > Miscellaneous.
It is also available to download from the 7-Zip website.
