Charter governing the cluster usage statistics facility
The following Charter applies to faculty, departmental and ISS staff who are granted access to the Cluster Usage Statistics Facility. Any failure to fully comply with this Charter may result in access to the facility being withdrawn and formal investigation in accordance with the University's Security Incident & Computer Misuse Policy.
- Access to the facility outside ISS will only be granted to the Faculty IT Managers (or their equivalent) and a single member of staff in each faculty or department who is working in support of the respective Faculty IT Manager (or their equivalent). All applications are to be approved by the IT Security Co-ordinator.
- ISS staff will only be granted access to the facility where there is a business need for such access and the approval of the IT Security Co-ordinator is to be sought via email in respect of each application.
- Those who are granted access to this facility must not allow any third party to use it regardless of whether the account holder is present or not.
- Users of the facility are required to ensure that their computer is secured against unauthorised access on each occasion that it is left unattended.
- Those granted access to the facility are only granted such access for the purpose of which the application was made, and must not use the facility for any other purpose, such as identifying specific users of computer facilities for other than official University purposes.
- Faculty and department staff who are granted access to the facility must not view statistics associated with any user outside their faculty or department.
- Under no circumstances is the facility to be used to monitor the time or attendance of any member of staff.
- All usage of the facility must be in accordance with the University's Code on Data Protection.
