Adobe Shockwave update

Adobe Shockwave update

Published Monday 2nd December 13

Overnight on Wednesday 4 December an update for Adobe Shockwave will be released to all the PCs on Campus. If your web browser is open it will be forced to close during the upgrade process.

If your web browser is open, it will close automatically, without warning, to achieve a successful install. This will be the case for all browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera).

The update is being released on Wednesday 4 December. PCs check for updates once a day, so the update will most likely install on PCs from the morning of Thursday 5 December.

More information

The Adobe Shockwave plugin is currently installed on the vast majority of PCs on campus; it is important that this application is updated to fix known critical security vulnerabilities in older versions. Your PC will only receive the update if it already has Adobe Shockwave installed and it is less than version 12.0.5r146.

If you have questions about either Adobe Shockwave or the update process, please contact the IT Help Desk or your local IT support. Technical details of the update process are available here:
