Help Desk Summer opening times

From the 15 June 2012, the IT Help Desk will move to summer opening times.
FTP access to home directories and shared areas
From Monday 22 February the standard FTP service will be replaced by a more secure one called FTPs.
Automatic power saving on PCs
A new project, agreed by the University's Sustainable IT Committee will allow automatic power saving on idle or unattended PCs.
Purchasing software
Staff and students can buy a range of software for home use from the University's online store (http://store.leeds.ac.uk).

Closure of Mech Eng cluster
The Mech Eng 1.51 cluster will be closed until further notice. The software normally available in this cluster will be available in the West Teaching Lab (lower) during this time.
